Be Yourself in Work: Discover & Express Your Career Values
“Your values are yours and on one else’s and no one can tell you what your values should be”.
Minda Zetlin, Author of Career Self-Care
Some of the most impactful conversations that we have with our clients involve talking about their values - the things that are most important to them. When we know what matters most to us in life then we can make important decisions about how we live. And how we work.
The case for using our values in our careers is compelling.
Those that live out their values at work and express them openly are more comfortable, confident and productive (Helen Tupper & Sarah Ellis - The Squiggly Career).
Those who know their values - “their code” - have more clarity on their career goals and confidence to move forward courageously (Olatunde Sobomehin & Sam Seidel - Creative Hustle).
And when your career aligns with your core values you have a sense of purpose, are more satisfied, have a sense of happiness, and feel fulfilled - Saundra Loffredo.
Who would not want this?!
Finding our values, though, can be challenging.
It requires deep self-reflection to, for example, identify our own values and not those of others, to wrestle with what’s truly important to us, and to explore which of our values are most important.
The bottomline is that you can’t microwave this reflection - there is no single assessment tool - and many of us don’t do the work - even though it is so important.
So we created a simple self-directed course to make this process a lot easier.
We designed a simple structure that starts with discovery of your values and ends with how you can express your values in a career.
Along the route - to aid reflection - topics are explored through very practical activities - all under 15 minutes - so they are super accessible. You go at your own pace.
By the end, you will have a deeper understanding of your values and be more motivated to use them in your work and life.
And the early reviews of the course are overwhelming positive - it seems to work!
